Check of levels of liquids
The remark Procedures of check of level the liquids made through each 400 km of run or weekly are more low described. The description of other checks of levels of a liquid can be found further in the Sections devoted to specific procedures of service. Irrespective of check intervals under the schedule do not suppose, that the liquid followed under the car, such leaks specify in malfunction which should be eliminated immediately.
Liquids are the integral component of systems of greasing, cooling, brake and systems of washing of a windscreen. In view of the gradual expense and-or pollution of liquids in the course of normal operation of the car, it is necessary to replace them periodically. Familiarise with Section “Types and volumes of applied greasings and liquids” in Specifications before to start to доливу liquids in any of the listed components. The remark: At any check of level of a liquid the car should stand on an equal surface.
Impellent oil
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Check of level of impellent oil is made by means of measuring щупа, the engine located on one side. Щуп passes through a metal tube downwards, reaching a pallet bottom картера the engine. |
2. Measurement of level of impellent oil is made before start of the engine or not less than through 15 mines after its deenergizing.

Oil level should remain between two labels, it is desirable at level or is close from top of them - if it not so, add oils to the top label. Do not suppose falling of level below the minimum label since oil starvation can lead to engine damage. On the other hand, overflow of the engine by oil (having added above the maximum mark) can be at the bottom замасливания of spark plugs, leaks of oil or failure of epiploons. |

| 6. Check of level of oil is the important preventive procedure. Constant falling of level of oil specifies or in presence of its leaks through the damaged epiploons or ослабшие connections, or on its burning out (internal leaks through the worn out piston rings or through directing plugs of valves). Engine cooler

| 1. All cars considered in the given Management, are equipped by system of cooling with superfluous pressure of compensatory type. The white plastic broad tank (or the cooler tank) is located in an impellent compartment and connected by a hose to a radiator. In process of a warming up of the engine in the course of its work the extending cooler fills a tank. At cooling of the engine the cooler automatically arrives back in cooling system that provides maintenance of constant value of its level. |
2. Check of level of a cooler in the tank should be made regularly. Add 40 %/60 %-s' mix of antifreeze on a basis этиленгликоля with water.
The prevention Do not uncover a jellied mouth of a broad tank or a cover of a radiator for check of level of a cooler before full cooling of the engine! Level in the tank fluctuates depending on engine temperature. When the engine cold, cooler level should be above a label “LOW” on the tank. In process of heating of the engine level should come nearer to a label “FULL”. If it not so, allow to the engine to cool down and then uncover the tank.

| 3. Banish the car and again measure cooler level. If to the necessary level it is required to add only a cooler small amount for this purpose it is possible to use pure water. However frequent additions of water will dilute antifreeze. To provide a normal parity of antifreeze and water, always add to the necessary level a demanded mix. |
| 4. If cooler level falls regularly in system leak presence is possible. Examine a radiator, hoses, a cover of a mouth, a stopper plum and the water pump (the Section Check of functioning of system of cooling see). If any leaks it is not revealed, make check of tightness of a cover of a broad tank and a radiator in dealer branch of service OPEL. |
| 5. If you need to uncover, wait, while the engine completely will cool down, then wrap up a piece of thick rags round a cover т turn away it to the first emphasis. If thus from under a cover steam or a cooler starts to be pulled out, allow to the engine to cool down a little more, and only then uncover. |
| 6. It is necessary to check a cooler condition also. It should be rather pure. If the liquid has brown or rusty colour, it it is necessary to merge, wash out system and to fill with its new mix. Brake liquid and coupling liquid
The prevention The brake liquid can harm your eyes and damage the painted surfaces of the car, therefore be extremely cautious at the reference with it. Do not use a brake liquid which long time stood opened, or which more than one year. The brake liquid has property to absorb a moisture from air that can lead to dangerous loss of efficiency of brake system. Use only the recommended type of a brake liquid. Mixing of various types of a liquid (such as DOT 3 or 4 and DOT 5) can lead to refusal of brake system.

| 1. The main cylinder of brake system is established in a back left corner of an impellent compartment. |

2. To check up level of a liquid of coupling, look at the translucent tank. Level should be near a ledge on the tank. If it more low, uncover and add the recommended liquid. |
|
|
3. Level of a brake liquid also is checked visually, on labels on the plastic tank established on the main cylinder. Liquid level should be between labels “MAX” and “MIN”. If level below admissible, at first wipe top of the tank and a cover pure rags to prevent dirt hit in system after cover removal. Add to the necessary level the recommended liquid, but do not pour. |
| 4. While the tank cover is removed, check up a liquid and the tank of the main cylinder on presence of pollution. If at it there are particles of a rust, a dirt or a water drop, a liquid from system it is necessary to merge and fill in the new. |
| 5. After долива the tank to the necessary level make sure that the cover is established exactly, in order to avoid leaks of a liquid and-or dirt hit. |
| 6. Liquid level in the main cylinder will fall slightly as a result of wear process of frictional overlays brake колодок. There is no necessity to add it until level remains near a label “MIN”; it will rise after replacement of overlays. Very low level can specify in deterioration brake колодок. | 7. If level of a brake liquid constantly falls, immediately check up all system on presence of leaks. Liquid of a washer of glasses and headlights

| 1. The liquid for washing of glasses is in the plastic tank in an impellent compartment. |
| 2. In areas with a temperate climate it is possible to fill system with usual water, but the tank should be filled no more, than on two third that there was a free space on a case of expansion of water at freezing. In areas with cold environmental conditions it is necessary to use special antifreeze for system of washing of the windscreen, reducing a freezing point of a liquid which can be got in any shop of automobile accessories. Usually it is on sale in the concentrated or ready kind. If you have got the concentrated antifreeze, mix it with water according to the instruction of the manufacturer on packing. |
