Condition check

1. The privodnye belts sometimes named belts of V-shaped section or it is simple вентиляторными belts, are in a forward part of the engine and play the important role in work of the car and its separate components. Because of features of a material and operating conditions приводные belts fail after a while, and consequently their condition it is necessary to check and regulate periodically effort of a tension in order to avoid serious damages of the engine.
2. The quantity of the belts used on the concrete car, depends on the units established on it and systems. Privodnye belts are applied to actuating of the generator, the steering pump, the water pump and the compressor of a central air of air. Depending on an arrangement of pulleys one belt can put in action at once some components.

3. Switch off the engine, open a cowl and find various приводные belts in a forward part of the engine. Fingers (and using a small lamp if it is necessary) walk on all length of each belt, feeling them on presence of cracks and stratifications. If the distance centre to centre pulleys is in limits between 300 and 400 mm, the deflection should be 13 mm.


1. In need of adjustment of a tension of a belt towards its increase or reduction it becomes by moving of the unit resulted by a belt on its fixing arm. In that case when the belt puts in action more than one unit, usually for its adjustment there is enough displacement only one of them.

2. Each unit has an adjusting bolt and an axial bolt. For its moving on an arm it is necessary to weaken both bolts slightly. For some units the tension приводного a belt can be regulated, turning an adjusting bolt after easing of a lock bolt.
3. After both bolts are weakened, displace the unit from the engine for increase in a tension of a belt, or to the engine for its easing. Fix the unit in new position and check up a belt tension. If the further adjustment is not required, twirl both bolts and once again check up a tension. If has changed nothing, tighten bolts definitively.
4. Often for moving of the unit for the purpose of adjustment of a tension of a belt it is necessary to use the lever. If it is necessary, operate extremely cautiously not to damage the moved unit or an element used as a point of support.


1. For belt replacement follow the instructions resulted above on adjustment, but thus remove a belt from pulleys.
2. In certain cases you should remove more than one belt because of features of their arrangement in a forward part of the engine. Therefore, and also that belts tends to fail simultaneously to replace them too is better simultaneously. Mark each belt and a flute corresponding to it on a pulley correctly to establish new belts.
3. At purchase of new belts it is convenient to take with itself old to have possibility directly to compare them on length, width and a design.
4. Check up a tension of new belts after run of several hundreds kilometres.
