Injection system - the general information

THE GENERAL DATA

Cars are equipped with following systems of injection.
The engine of 2.0 l with восемью valves (OHC) is equipped by system of multiitem injection of manufacture of firm Bosch of type Motronic M1.5. From the middle of 1995 the new system of type Motronic M1.5.4 is established. It represents a uniform control system of the engine. In engines of this type the new system рецируцляции the fulfilled gases (EGR) which to 15 % of the fulfilled gases directs to chambers of combustion of the engine is established. All series of engines of 2.4 l is equipped by the specified system of injection.
The new engine of 2.2 l (DOHC), belonging to a series "ECOTEC" with 16th valves, is equipped by multiitem system of injection, execution Motronic 15.4. The engine has regulation on detonations, system рециркуляции the fulfilled gases with electronic control, and system подмешивания secondary air. It is necessary to mean that since 1997 this system is not established.
Though, as it has already been told, repair work with injection system is not spent, the description of basic elements of system here is resulted. Basically system Motronic M1.5.4 description is resulted. The description of older systems of injection is resulted also.
For carrying out of any works according to the resulted instructions it is necessary to have a certain experience of work with systems of injection and the systems of ignition connected with them. We do not bear any responsibility for any damages, able to arise owing to not qualified intervention in system elements.

SYSTEM BOSCH M1 5.4

The cable plait attached to the engine has many sockets of the various form. If in the course of work disconnect more than one tip it is necessary to mark with their appropriate amount, especially, if tips are nearby.
The description of some works following more low is resulted in the short form. Special knowledge is necessary for their carrying out. Works on replacement of some parts are described.
The injection system works in common with static ignition and the detonation gauge. The electronic block of management regulates structure of a mix and ignition.
The quantity of injected fuel depends on duration of opening of the gate of injection. Duration of injection depends on engine loading (the pressure gauge), number of turns of the engine (the flywheel gauge) and other factors of a condition of the engine.

Potentiometer throttle заслонки


If to look in front, the potentiometer (1) is on the left wall of an impellent compartment, to the right of the shock-absorber. For its removal расстыкуйте штекерное connection and, having turned away fastening bolts (иллюстр.).
Before installation attach throttle заслонку. Check up, that the potentiometer correctly sat on a shaft throttle заслонки. Join штекерное connection.

Regulator of pressure of fuel


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Pressure in fuel system should be removed with observance specified above safety measures.
2. Disconnect a vacuum hose from a regulator of pressure and remove a collar from a regulator of pressure and a fuel distributive highway. The pressure regulator is from an engine underside.
3. Check up, how the regulator of pressure of fuel (1) is established and take out it upward from a fuel distributive highway, as is shown in иллюстр. Sealing rings are on a pressure regulator.
4. Sealing rings before regulator installation grease with impellent oil and enter a regulator into a fuel distributive highway so that it has occupied the former position. Fix a regulator and put on a vacuum hose.

Replacement of gates of injection (injectors)


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Dump pressure in system.
2. Disconnect топливопроводы in places (1) and (2), as is shown in иллюстр.
3. Disconnect a drive of acceleration at the case throttle заслонки. Disconnect a support from the inlet pipeline and put aside.
4. Disconnect two vacuum hoses, one from the inlet pipeline, another from a regulator of pressure of fuel.
5. Remove a fixing finger at a fuel distributive highway. It is visible not at once and is near to the case throttle заслонки.
6. Расстыкуйте штекерное connection of gates of injection.
7. Turn away a nut of a cable of weight from a bolt of fastening and remove a cable. Turn away a bolt of fastening of a fuel distributive highway.
8. Take out a fuel distributive highway (1) together with injection gates (иллюстр.). For replacement of the gate of injection take away a clip.

Installation is carried out in sequence, return to removal. The fuel distributive highway fastens the moment of 8 Nanometers, a cable of weight the moment of 7 Nanometers. Again attach топливопроводы. Fix a support of a drive of gas two bolts.

Replacement of a measuring instrument of quantity of air


The measuring instrument of quantity of air is directly ahead of the air filter and is inserted into soaking up hose.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove collars (1) and the tip (2) on иллюстр.
2. Remove a measuring instrument of quantity of air from a soaking up hose. In the presence of its external damages it is necessary to replace. On a measuring instrument the arrow specifying a direction of a stream of air is put. Hoses should be attached tightly.

Replacement of the gauge of oxygen

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The oxygen gauge is in a reception pipe of the muffler and can be turned out after undocking штекерного (at a transmission) connections. Before gauge installation the connecting carving should be greased by special greasing. The gauge is tightened by the moment of 30 Nanometers. Watch that gauge wires did not adjoin to a reception pipe of the muffler and could not fray about elements of the chassis of the car.

Idling regulator

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The regulator of idling (1) is in a place shown on иллюстр., on the case throttle заслонки also fastens two bolts. Before removal расстыкуйте штекерное connection. The regulator has consolidation which is necessary for establishing correctly.

The gauge of temperature of soaked up air

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The gauge will screw in a hose of soaked up air near to an input in the air filter.
After undocking штекерного connections and removals of a hose of soaked up air the gauge can be squeezed out a sharp subject (for example, a knife) from a hose. Before gauge installation into place check up a hose condition. Establish into place all removed details.

The gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Replacement of this gauge is labour-consuming enough, as access to it is not convenient. It is screwed in the thermostat case (иллюстр.). To reach the gauge (1), it is necessary to remove клиновой a belt and the generator (to remove aside), to disunite штекерные connections on a hose всасывания air, a hose всасывания air between the case of the air filter and the case throttle заслонки and the temperature gauge. After that turn out the gauge. The new gauge fastens the moment of 8 Nanometers. The removed details are established in return sequence.

System Bosch M1 5.4 for engine DOHC

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The instructions resulted here concern only the differences which are taking place for the given engine. If the description of any work is not resulted, means that it is carried out similarly, described above. It is necessary to mean that some elements of system of injection here are on other places that does not correspond to the resulted illustrations.

Potentiometer throttle заслонки

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At engine DOHC the potentiometer is established in a place shown on иллюстр. For removal расстыкуйте штекерное connection (1) potentiometers (2) also remove a potentiometer, having turned away bolts.
Before installation attach throttle заслонку. Be convinced that the potentiometer correctly sits on throttle заслонке. Join штекерное connection.

Regulator of pressure of fuel

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove pressure in fuel system, observing safety measures. The regulator is in the centre of hoses and a hose of soaked up air. Removal and installation is made according to earlier resulted description.

Replacement of gates of injection (injectors)

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Work much more labour-consuming, than at the engine of 2.0 l, as demands carrying out of certain preparation to reach a fuel distributive highway and injection gates. For this reason the present work here is not described.

Replacement of a measuring instrument of quantity of air


The measuring instrument is directly ahead of the air filter and is inserted into a hose всасывания air. Removal and installation is made according to иллюстр.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a collar (1) from a hose всасывания air.
2. Disconnect a selection hose картерных gases in a point (2).
3. Remove a collar (3) from the resonator of soaked up air.
4. Расстыкуйте штекерное connection (4) gauges of temperature of soaked up air.
5. Disconnect a hose of soaked up air (5) from the case throttle заслонки and a measuring instrument of quantity of air (6).
6. Ослабьте a collar (7) hoses of soaked up air.
7. Remove a measuring instrument of quantity of air from the case of the air filter. The measuring instrument is replaced in the complete set.

Measuring instrument installation is carried out in sequence, to return its removal. Connections carry out according to иллюстр. Above.

1. To reach an idling regulator, it is necessary to remove the details shown on иллюстр. 4.29. Removal and installation are carried out similarly considered operation for engine OHC.

THE ENGINE OF 2.0 L

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a cable of weight from the storage battery.
2. Remove listed below a part in the specified sequence: a vacuum hose of the amplifier of a brake, демпфер throttle заслонки and an idling regulator. Instructions on removal of the listed parts are resulted in corresponding subsections.
3. Remove a screw-driver four clips of gates of injection, as is shown in иллюстр.
4. Remove a fuel distributive highway and its fastening.
5. Take out gates of injection from a fuel distributive highway.

At installation:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Injection gates establish with new consolidations.
2. Establish fastening and a fuel distributive highway.
3. Other parts are established in sequence, to return their removal.

THE ENGINE OF 2.4 L

At this engine injection gates act in film in pairs.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Расстыкуйте штекерное connection also disconnect топливопроводы from a fuel distributive highway.
2. Remove a fuel distributive highway and injection gates. Gates are taken out from a highway. They fasten скобами.

Installation is carried out in return sequence.

Replacement of a potentiometer throttle заслонки

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At the engine of 2.0 l the potentiometer is in a place shown on иллюстр. After undocking штекерного connections the potentiometer can be turned out. At the engine of 2.4 l it fastens two screws.

Replacement of a measuring instrument of an air stream

In the considered device of injection instead of a measuring instrument of quantity of air the measuring instrument of volume of air is applied. Заслонка a measuring instrument moves according to volume of soaked up air. Moving заслонки will be transformed to a corresponding electric signal. Arrangements of a measuring instrument of volume of air of the engine of 2.0 l it is shown on иллюстр. More low. At the engine of 2.4 l the measuring instrument is located a little differently.
Replacement of a measuring instrument of volume of air is carried out as follows:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Расстыкуйте штекерное connection also remove a hose of soaking up air. Remove the top part of the air filter. If it is necessary, release for this purpose four clips.
2. At the engine of 2.0 l uncover a measuring instrument and remove a measuring instrument (4 screws of fastening), at the engine of 2.4 l remove a measuring instrument from the top part of the air filter.
3. Remove the inlet pipeline (the engine 2.0) and take out a measuring instrument.
4. Establish a new measuring instrument in correct position, grease four screws with means for fixing of a carving and fix a measuring instrument.
5. Establish a measuring instrument cover, an inlet knee, the top part of the air filter, a hose всасывания air and join штекерное connection.

Replacement of a regulator of pressure


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Appearance of a regulator of pressure for the engine of 2.0 l is shown on иллюстр. At the engine of 2.4 l it has a similar appearance. The pressure regulator is easily replaced after a detachment of vacuum and fuel hoses.

Replacement of the gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The gauge is in the inlet pipeline and can be turned out after undocking штекерного connections. The cooling liquid thus follows. The gauge fastens the moment of 10 Nanometers.
At the engine of 2.4 l disconnect a hose of a cooling liquid from the inlet pipeline. The cooling liquid should be merged in capacity. The gauge is disconnected after undocking штекерного connections. Fix the gauge the moment of 10 Nanometers, join штекерное connection and fill in a liquid in system.

Replacement of a regulator of idling

The idling regulator represents the detail of the round form which is directly about a designation "OHC" on the top party of the engine. For its replacement расстыкуйте штекерное connection, ослабьте collars, remove hoses and turn away fastening screws.
The gauge in sequence, by return to removal is established.
