Radiator and the fan

THE GENERAL DATA

Check of a radiator and radiator stopper

Check on tightness of a stopper of a broad tank Check of system of cooling on tightness

The cooling system works under pressure. The stopper of a broad tank is under the influence of effort of a spring which opens and closes system at achievement in it of certain pressure.
The increase in pressure of a cooling liquid leads to increase of a point of its boiling.
The special pump is necessary for check of a stopper of a radiator. The pump наворачивается on a stopper also is created pressure until the valve will open. It should occur within specified above pressure. If it does not occur, the stopper is subject to replacement. The pump and its installation are shown on иллюстр. By means of the same pump the cooling system can be checked up on tightness. Pump installation on a broad tank in this case is shown on иллюстр. At the engine of 2.4 l the broad tank has the form shown on иллюстр. "The broad tank of the engine of 2.4 l", however check is made similarly. Create pressure in 1kg/sm3 and check up, that the manometre held this pressure within not less than 2 minutes If pressure does not keep, the system has a leak. At operation by the pump it is necessary to be guided by instructions of its manufacturer.

Removal and radiator installation


Before radiator or fan removal preliminary disconnect the storage battery as at the included ignition feeding wires of the fan are energised. The fan acts in film as follows:

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Merge a liquid from system as it is described in Section Refuelling of a cooler of system of cooling of the Head Current leaving and service. Turn away a stopper of a broad tank to facilitate a liquid exit. Collect a liquid in capacity if it is used further. Otherwise utilise its appropriate amount.
2. Расстыкуйте штекерные thermostat and fan connections.
3. Ослабьте collars of fastening of hoses on a radiator also remove hoses. Take hoses aside, without bending them.
4. At the car till 1993 of release with the engine of 2.0 l remove facing of the fan and hang up it on the fan.
5. Disconnect radiator fastening in the top part. The radiator fastens corners with left and on the right side and bolts in the centre. Take out a radiator upward, at cars till 1993 of release together with facing. Thus watch to damaging tubes.

At installation of a new radiator it is necessary to establish also new elements of its fastening.

Instructions

At engine DOHC it is necessary to disconnect hoses from the resonator of soaking up air. Besides, before съемом a radiator it is necessary to remove the case of the engine of the fan. Details of this engine are shown on иллюстр. Point 5 (Removal and radiator installation).
Radiator installation is carried out in sequence, to return its removal. Fill system with a liquid as it is described in Section Refuelling of a cooler of system of cooling of the Head Current leaving and service.


Replacement of the fan of cooling

ENGINE DOHC

The details which are subject to removal, are shown on иллюстр. Point 5 (Removal and radiator installation).

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Расстыкуйте штекерное electric motor connection.
2. Remove a radiator as it is described in corresponding section.
3. Turn away bolts of fastening of a radiator (иллюстр.).
4. Turn away the nuts (1) shown on иллюстр., also remove the fan case.
5. Remove a lock ring on an electric motor shaft. Remove knot крылатки.

Fan installation is carried out in sequence, to return its removal. On an electric motor shaft крыльчатка fastens a lock ring.
After installation of a radiator and filling of system with a liquid start the engine and check up fan work.

THE ENGINE OF 2.0 L OHC TILL THE END OF 1996 OF RELEASE (INCLUDING VJAZKOSTNUJU МУФТУ)


At this engine the cooling fan acts in film together with вязкостной муфтой.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a cable of weight from the storage battery.
2. Remove клиновой a belt as it is described in corresponding section.
3. Turn out the central bolt from the fan. The bolt is shown on иллюстр., it has the left carving. At отворачивании a bolt крыльчатка it should be kept from проворачивания.
4. Remove вязкостную муфту and a pulley.

Fan installation is carried out in sequence, to return its removal. A bolt tighten the moment of 26 Nanometers (the left carving!).

THE ENGINE OF 2.4 L (INCLUDING VJAZKOSTNUJU МУФТУ)


At this engine the cooling fan acts in film together with вязкостной муфтой.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a cable of weight from the storage battery.
2. Remove клиновой a belt as it is described in corresponding section.
3. Turn out the central bolt from the fan. The bolt is shown on иллюстр., it has the left carving.
4. Remove вязкостную муфту and a pulley.

Fan installation is carried out in sequence, to return its removal. A bolt tighten the moment of 26 Nanometers (the left carving!).

THE ENGINE OF RELEASE OF 2.0 L OHC SINCE 1997


At this engine bolts turn away and all frame of the fan from the interior of a radiator acts in film. The fan further acts in film.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a cable of weight from the storage battery and расстыкуйте штекерное connection at the fan electric motor.
2. Remove the fan as it has been already described.
3. Turn away bolts (1) and (2) from the interior of a radiator (иллюстр.) also take out all case of the fan from the bottom arms.
4. Turn away three nuts from the interior of the electric motor (see иллюстр.) also remove the case.
5. Remove a screw-driver a lock ring from a shaft of the electric motor of the fan and disassemble knot.

Fan assemblage is carried out in sequence, return dismantling.
